Gedenksteen
During this 1-, 2- or 3-days tour from Samaipata you will follow the last steps of the legendary Ché Guevara in Bolivia.

In the pleasant town of Vallegrande you will visit the museum, which contains a huge collection of photos of El Ché.
Further you will go to the Señor de Malta hospital, where Ché´s corpse was exposed to the world press and the people on a laundry basin after he was executed, and where the text of his last letter to his children is copied on a wall.

Also you will visit the graveyard of Ché and his combatants.

Het authentieke dorpje Pucará Between Vallegrande and La Higuera lies the authentic village of Pucará. On the way we use to see condors many times. In Pucará we will make a stop so you can walk through the small streets and take some photographs.
Then we continue to La Higuera, the place where Ché got executed. This happened in the school building of La Higuera, in which a small museum is established now.
On the Plaza in La Higuera you can admire a small old bust of Ché, as well as a big newer bust.
You will have a romantic dinner at candle light -because of the lack of electricity- and sleep in La Higuera. The hostel has a very pleasant atmosphere. It has been restaured with original materials and in the authentic style. You can have a hot shower here as well because it is on gas!
La Higuera is situated excellent; from there you have beautiful views over the surroundings.
Hostal in La Higuera
Buste van Ché Guevara in La Higuera We will make a walk of about 4 hours to the Quebrada del Churo where you will see the place where Ché was hiding for the army.

We will let the sequence of visits to the places of interest depend on the day you start your tour and the opening hours of the museum in Vallegrande. In this way we can make sure that you will get to see all mentioned places.
This tour can be done in one very long day as well. In that case you can´t do the walk to the Quebrada del Churo.
We advice you, if you have the time, to choose for the 2 or 3-days tour. It´s worth it!

It´s also possible to make a 3-days tour. Then you will hike more and get to see the cave where Ché spent his last nights. There will be enough time to do a downhill bike trip to the Río Grande, where you can swim and relax. Or you can choose to go horseback riding in the surroundings of La Higuera.
