Lake Titicaca, at about 12,000 ft. above sea level is the highest navigable lake in the world.
The pleasant city of Copacabana is located at the shore of Lake Titicaca and offers many places of interest. The most important place to visit besides the famous sanctuary of Copacabana is the Island of the Sun, Isla del Sol. This sacred Inca island can be visited by boat.

1 day tours:

Isla del Sol (half day); you will leave Copacabana around eight in the morning to go by boat to Isla del Sol.
Here you can visit:
- the fountain of the Incas;
- the museum of pumas;
- the temple of the sun;
- the 500 Inca steps.
After visiting these beautiful places you´ll return to Copacabana by boat, where the tour ends.

Isla del Sol North to South (full day); the tour starts with the pick-up at your hotel between eight and eight thirty. You will go to the port where the boat leaves bound for the Northern part of the island. This trip takes roughly two hours and a half.
On the island you will visit the Chincana ruins, La Pisada del sol (print of the sun), La Roca Sagrada (the holy rock), and the Gold Museum. These visits take about an hour and a half. To go to the Southern part of the island you can choose from two options:
- do a hike of about two and a half hours from north to south to the community of Yumani with excellent views over Lake Titicaca.
In Yumani you can visit: the fountains of the Incas, the museum of the pumas, the temple of the sun and the famous 500 Inca steps;
- take the boat that leaves at 13:00 hrs and brings you to the South side of the island in 45 minutes. In Yumani you will visit the same attractions as described above.
After visiting these beautiful places you´ll go back to Copacabana by boat, where the tour ends.

Catamaran Cruise La Paz - La Paz; you will leave at six o`clock by bus from la Paz to Chua at lake Titicaca, this takes one hour and a half. Here you will board the catamaran which takes you in about three hours to the southside of Isla del Sol. While sailing breakfast is served on board. At Isla del Sol you will visit; the Inca garden, the famous 500 Inca steps, the Inca fountain and the Inti Wata Complex including the Ekako Museum. This takes about two hours and a half. You will see a traditional Kallawaya ceremonie and the Pilkokaina Inca palace during a boatride by original reedboad.
Then you will sail to Chua in two hours and a half and a lunch buffet will be served on board. From Chua you will go back to La Paz by bus.
You can also do this tour from La Paz to Puno (Peru) or from Puno to La Paz. You will get to see the same places of interest. The time schedule will be a little bit different. If you have any questions email us.

2 days tours:
- Isla del Sol North to South; the program is the same as for the 1 day tour North to South, with the difference that you´ll spend the night on the Island near Yumani. In the morning you´ll go back to Copacabana by boat to be in time to catch a bus to La Paz or Puno.
- Catamaran Cruise La Paz - La Paz; around six in the morning you will go by bus from La Paz to Copacabana. You will enjoy the three hours bus ride passing the snow capped mountains of the Cordillera Real and driving along the shore of lake Titicaca. In the lively city of Copacabana you will visit the Cathedral and the main square. The Catamaran will be waiting for you to bring you to the South side of Isla del Sol in about one hour. There you will visit the Inca garden, the famous 500 Inca steps, the holy Inca fountain and the Inti Wati ruins. After that you will get a demonstration of ancestral navigation by reed boat.
Also you will have a panoramic view of the Inca palace of Pilkokaína.
Then the catamaran will bring you to the North side of the Island in half an hour. You will have your lunch buffet on board. On the North side of the island you will visit the original village of Challapampa and the museum, the holy Inca temple La Chinkana and the holy Inca rock. Special activities are: music and dance, interpreted by people from the community of Challapampa, offering for good fortune for the visitors, sailing in typical wooden boats, ancestral Kallawaya ceremony and an easy hike over an Inca trail. You will have your dinner on the catamaran and you can enjoy indigenous music and dance from the Aymara people of the island. You will spend the night and have breakfast on board of the catamaran. After breakfast you will hike in four hours from the northern to the southern part of the island, with beautiful views over the island and the lake. The catamaran brings you in two and a half hours to Chua. While sailing you will have your lunch buffet. By bus you will be brought back in an hour and a half to La Paz.
You can also do a 2 days tour to Isla del Sol from La Paz to Puno (Peru) or the other way around!
